SHOOLSPORT YOUNG LEADERS
SchoolSport “Young Leaders” have been trained by British Council’s internationally qualified facilitators, to be able to plan, organize and deliver safe and successful sports events for their peers within their schools and communities.
The Young Leaders are very experienced and most of them have delivered
many major successful sports festivals under the British Council’s worldwide sports policy called “Dreams & Teams”. Their training includes developing teamwork, communication and organizational skills.
The events they have organized for Dreams and Teams include an exhibitory mini soccer clinic during former Heavy Weight boxing champion, Lennox Lewis’ visit to Ghana in August 2002, and a promotional mini sports festival in June 2005, when Olympic decathlete, Lord Sebastian Coe was in the country with his bidding team to campaign for support from African countries in a quest to win the right to host the 2012 Olympic games in London.
