Nimobi(i.e.
Nima-Maamobi) Ladies Football Club was formed in line with
SchoolSport’s aim to promote gender equality in sports – giving girls the
opportunity to play sports that were otherwise seen as for boys only.
Nimobi Ladies F.C has registered over forty (40) girls under the G.F.A, who are currently playing in the Greater Accra Regional Women’s Football League.
The girls were selected from basic schools during inter-school football competitions organised by SchoolSport. The schools are from the communities of Nima and Maamobi and its surrounding areas (including Pig Farm, Kotobabi, Newtown and Kanda).
Nimobi Ladies F.C. is the first and only girls’ football club in the East Ayawaso constituency.
